Squat breakdown:
My first squat was nice and easy and almost a 10 lb meet PR. I was very relieved
to get this squat in nice, clean, and easy. I've had squat voodoo in my first two
meets so I was real nervous about this one. On my second squat the left side
spotter grabbed it as soon as I stalled ("bad spotter, bad!"). I didn't bother
complaining about it as I wasn't going to do four squat attempts (thinking about
DL and total). For my third attempt the weight went up easily with one call for
depth. Hey, I can live with two whites. Over 40 lb meet PR and absolute PR for
witnessed lifts.
Bench breakdown:
All my benches were uneventfully easy. I was really not expecting to get the third
lift but it just flew up. I probably could have thrown another 5 KGs on there. Over
40 lb meet PR and absolute PR for witnessed lifts.
Deadlift breakdown:
For my first deadlift I went up on the platform without my straps up on my
singlet. I was all set to pull when the left side judge let me know. They allowed
me to fix it and I ripped the weight up easily. I jumped straight up to a bit over
3xBW. They had some quick setting epoxy holding the weight on the floor. :) I sat
down and really visualized getting the lift. Then, when I was on deck I started
staring the bar down and getting pissed off at it. The video shows quite a variety
of facial expressions during the lift and captures my scream as I locked it out. :)
Normally I'm a very quiet and calm type but I had to step out for this lift. Over
45 lb meet PR and triple bodyweight.
Total breakdown:
I had planned on getting all my 2nd attempts and taking any thirds as icing on the
cake. So, I got a little icing on there. 58.5 KG (128.7 lbs) meet PR. I'm ecstatic
about this result.
My 10 year old took video of my lifts (which accents such things as the over anxious
squat spotter and how fast and easy my benches looked). My wife took pics. Here are
the three that meant something to the total:
